Hydrogen cyanamide is a plant growth regulator used in commercial orchards to enhance bud-break in kiwifruit and other fruit.
We are consulting on the EPA’s reassessment of hydrogen cyanamide and its formulations. Public submissions on the content of the reassessment application and our initial proposals are now being accepted. This consultation is open until 5pm on Friday 26 November 2021.
Please read the application documents and submission guidance before filling out this submission form.
The application documents include human health and environmental risk assessments, an economic benefits assessment, and Māori impact assessment. Key points from these assessments and full details on the initial proposals can be found in the application report. The report also includes a number of question boxes where we have identified areas of uncertainty requiring further input from submitters.
In your submission you can provide information, make comments, raise issues, and indicate whether you support or oppose the proposals. We are particularly interested in hearing about any adverse or positive effects of hydrogen cyanamide that have not been identified in the application. Supporting documents can also be uploaded as part of your submission. Your submission will be considered in the decision-making process.
